ExtraMuros has been in operation for eighteen months. During that time, it has made more than 270 articles available, at no cost, to all who cared to read them.

Baring force majeure (such as a change in the way Substack does things) these posts will remain free. However, starting on 1 November 2024, most new articles published in this newsletter will be hidden behind a paywall. (And yes, Dear Latin Lovers, I am aware of the irony of hiding Extra Muros behind a wall of any sort.)

If you are starting out in life, living on a fixed pension, or serving in the armed forces of a country I like, you can request full access to Extra Muros by sending me an e-mail message. Likewise, if you publish a newsletter that I would like to read, I would be happy to swap complimentary subscriptions.

Before closing, I would like to express my appreciation for (and to) the people who, over the past eighteen months, have voluntarily provided financial support to Extra Muros. In addition to helping me cover the cost of producing this newsletter, you have encouraged me to continue with this voyage into the wide and wonderful world of self-directed education.
